Swedish engraving, Maria Eleonora (17th c.)
We found this attractive original engraving in Stockholm Sweden, featuring a portrait of Maria Eleonora. Maria Eleonora (1599–1655)was a German princess and queen consort of Sweden.
In 1620, Maria Eleonora married the Swedish king Gustavus Adolphus. She bore her husband a daughter, Christina, in 1626.
Maria Eleonora was described as the most beautiful queen in Europe.
Measures: Approx. 6.5" h, 5" w.
Excellent condition. Minimal wear consistent with age.
We put the portrait in a used wooden (not old) frame with glass. A temporary framing solution, perhaps. But it can be hung from the very get go.
